Basic Painting

Some boys usually like painting pictures of some movie characters like transformers. It is difficult to come up with painting ideas for children who always want to paint extraordinary pictures.

Photo frame using colourful ice-cream sticks

This was a fun activity I did with my friends children using the materials that were  available at home at that time. I love collecting colourful ice-cream sticks for craft purpose. So I had a cardboard on which the children arranged ice-cream sticks and stuck them.  Then we stuck a colourful paper over the ice-cream sticks. Stuck their favourite picture and some lace or colourful strips for border. It was a memorable activity.

Best out of waste-pencil stand

This is a simple pencil stand made from a used can. I have used corrugated paper which gives a nice touch to the can. My students loved it.

Paper roses

 

 I made the craft class really cool by making these awesome roses. I added a stick to the rose so students can put them in a vase and decorate in their room. It looks complicated but is a simple method.

Best out of waste – candle stand

I had all these glass bangles which I wasn’t wearing anymore. So my students stacked them up on the Cd after sticking the candle in the centre.  The idea is when the candle is lit the bangles reflects the light and it looks pretty.

Hand painting

This is a fun activity done today. Got the idea from pinterest. Students had fun dipping their hands and fingers in paint and could write as well.

Craft: Diwali Diya

Well making stuff for festivals and using the same is a lot more fun. This week my students were introduced to make a decorated diya for Diwali – the festival of lights. I bought foam and cut it in a circular shape. Then I gave my students colourful stones, chain in gold and silver colour, a sparkling tea light and we have used fevibond to stick these stones and chain. I told them to stick alternate coloured stones in a circle on the foam. And stick tea-light in the centre. It was a little effort but a lot of creativity.
